Hindfoot fusion with External Fixation
51 year old male s/p open reduction internal fixation ankle fracture with chronic osteomyelitis and septic ankle. Patient was treated with one staged operation of removal of infected fibula and ankle fusion with ring external fixator. The external fixation was removed after 12 wks with solid fusion of ankle and resolution of infection.
